KAMPALA — The Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has announced changes in the leadership of the organization, appointing Hon. Fadil Twaha as the new General Secretary. The appointment was communicated through a series of posts on Gen. Muhoozi's official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday. Hon. Twaha, who has been serving as the PLU Coordinator for the Sebei Sub-Region, replaces Hon. Daudi Kabanda, who has held the position of General Secretary for the past three years. In his announcement, Gen. Muhoozi commended Kabanda for his service and contribution to the growth of the organization during his tenure. He noted that Kabanda had set a high standard for the office of General Secretary and thanked him for his dedication and commitment to PLU's objectives. "Hon. Daudi Kabanda has served diligently as General Secretary and leaves behind a strong foundation upon which his successor can build," Gen. Muhoozi stated. As part of the transition process, the National Vice Chairman has been directed to organize a formal handover ceremony between the outgoing General Secretary, Hon. Kabanda, and the incoming office bearer, Hon. Fadil Twaha. The latest changes are part of an ongoing reorganization within the Patriotic League of Uganda aimed at strengthening the organization's leadership structures and enhancing its operations across the country. Further details regarding additional appointments and leadership changes are expected to be communicated by the organization in due course.
